The LIONSROCK Programme in Animal Welfare is a five-day immersive programme held at our Sanctuary, focused on promoting Animal Welfare while fostering a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between animals, humans, and the environment. Through a range of engaging activities, you will discover the significance of “One Welfare,” where the well-being of animals, people, and the environment are intricately linked.

This programme focuses on animal welfare principles, practice, and policy within the One Welfare context. It has been designed to equip the learner with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to implement or undertake activities to support an animal welfare program for rescued wild animals in captive environments.

The course also equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to understand and interpret the five-domain model of animal welfare and apply measures towards enhancing the animal’s quality of life. The skills and knowledge that will be acquired from this programme can be used in a variety of contexts across various sectors.
