The LIONSROCK Programme in Animal Welfare and Nutrition is a three-day immersive programme held at our Sanctuary, focused on promoting Animal Welfare while fostering a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between animals, humans, and the environment. Through a range of engaging activities, you will discover the significance of “One Welfare,” where the well-being of animals, people, and the environment are intricately linked.

This program is ideal for individuals or groups who are interested and wish to gain an in-depth understanding of the connection between animal welfare, human welfare, and environmental sustainability.

In completion of this course, participants will be able to analyse and address the ‘conflict’ between animal welfare and human welfare as it relates to human nutritional needs and food production. Participants will also be able to integrate and apply science and values for better decision-making to embark on activities that will improve One Welfare through our food choices.
