Your Home Page: Important things to Note
Learn more about how to update your home page and keep it tidy and user-friendly!
Your home page is often the first thing visitors see! Please take a look at some of the essentials for keeping this page up-to-date and ranking well for SEO. You should do a check of your home page once a week, as well as every time you add new content to the website.
Important Content Reminders:
- Only use 3-4 heroes, and exchange them at least once a week. We want our visitors to see new topics, be up-to-date, and let Google know we are updating our page. (This helps us rank higher).
- Recent updates should be included and up-to-date all the time. I.e., if you have added a new page, make sure you add a teaser to the correct landing page, or to the home page 'News and Updates' etc.
- You can also add this grey Participate element (below) to promote your Press Corner, your Newsletter as well as Social links. To do so, follow the steps below:
How to add the Grey Bar (Participate Element) to your page:
1. Add the Participate Element to your Content Tree. Then, using the --> add the Newsletter element, the Social Element, and another Newsletter element, all inside the main Participate element.
2. In the 'Social' card, you can then add more icons (Linked Image), and all the details in the Inspector. See next slide.
3. In the inspector is where you can fill in the details like, adding the social media link, the label, the icon (make sure it is an approved icon from CANTO) In this case, the linked in icon file name is: Linkedin-Logo" and is already in NEOS. Don't forget to add image alt text and image title.
Important things to remember for your Website Footer
- Please check that the correct name, address, contact details are in your footer.
- Copyright note: should always have the current year shown, and 'all rights reserved' by your entity. Make sure it is in the correct language, on each language version of your website.
- Link to data privacy and in many EU countries: make sure to also link to your imprint page! (Some countries are exempt from this).
- Logo including the claim --> The logo should be the FOUR PAWS International one, and lead to www.four-paws.org
- Please make sure all links to the other country websites are there. Please list of all of them, and they should all link to their respective home pages, or to the overview of the FOUR PAWS offices page

Here are the footer details for the FP International Website, including all the countries. To centre-align the countries, simply add an extra 'Organisation' item, and leave it blank.
Here is an example of a Bear Sanctuary Footer. Please note, the copyright details include the correct entity.
Important Reminders about the Inspector
- Relations options: always add related content to your pages. Do so by searching for article titles in Related Content that are already on your website, on similar topics.
- SoMe: Add your respective social media links.
- Header buttons: We generally only have two, at all times. (Donate and Sponsorship).
- Please read the following about the yellow buttons...
- On the Home page in the inspector, we do have 3 options for a yellow button:
- 1. Book now 2. Shop 3. Tickets
- However: please only use ONE yellow button at the time (if they apply to your website)
