HOW TO ADD IMAGES ON PAGES
Learn how to properly add images to your pages from the NEOS gallery, or upload a new one from CANTO
Most important point: Every Image we use on the Website/SoMe/Print Material etc. should be in CANTO. Copyright and terms of conditions should be proved and clear before we use them. All images should fit to FP and our CI, so AVP Team should check them first.
Adding an image from the NEOS gallery
To add an image to your page or to elements, you can use the many images that are already in NEOS, or download one from CANTO if it is new or not yet in the NEOS media gallery.
FYI: All images you use in NEOS must be in CANTO first (ideally), and you can do this by sending your photos and making this request to the AV team. Email: audiovisual@four-paws.org
- Click on the content tree and choose an image element (Image, Image Stripe, CTA Full width etc.) add it to the canvas, and then click on it.
- In the inspector, click the camera icon to select an image from the NEOS media gallery.
- Search for the image, using tags, typing in the name, OR, if you see the image somewhere else on the website, you can open the image in a new tab, and take the bolded section of the link and copy it into the NEOS image gallery search bar: https://media.4-paws.org/2/4/c/d/24cdd15ceab3e455094965bea6265cfd4ef8fca5/VIER%20PFOTEN_2017-10-20_006-4000x1332-1920x639.jpg
Adding a new photo to a NEOS page from CANTO
If you don't find a suitable image in the NEOS Gallery, or it is not yet in NEOS, you can also upload one from CANTO, which you can find in Pawsnet.
Directions for adding images from CANTO:
- Find a suitable image from CANTO. They are divided up by topic and campaign.
- When you have found a suitable image, you need to download it in the proper size.
- You can click the download button, and select the preset: Web resolution, so that it is downloaded in the correct size and format
- Web images need to be 2MB max, with a dpi of 72. Please do not add images over 2MB.
- If you use the Web Resolution preset download in Canto, but it is still too large, try compressing it with the download option "Resize, crop and compress". Here you need to manually make the width 3000px, make sure the dpi is 72, and compress it by bringing the quality down to 90%. (3 steps)
- Make sure an appropriate file name is used, I.e. use the Canto file name, and make sure it is a jpeg file type. (No names like 'MSteamsphoto.png)
- Once you have downloaded it to your computer, upload it in NEOS by adding an image element in the content tree, and clicking on the camera icon in the inspector. Press upload in the NEOS gallery, and select the image file which you have downloaded to your computer.
- Fill in the same title and caption as you see in Canto (make sure it is in English), and add the copyright details. Do not add a copyright symbol, it adds one automatically.
- Select the appropriate tags, at least one! (Farm Animals, Sheep, etc.)
- Click upload and apply, and do not forget to add an Alternative Text and Title (short and sweet, describing the photo. ie. Merino sheep in a field)
